Join the SobrietyWorks team

SobrietyWorks brings together talented people from recovery communities who use their judgment, craft, and experience to build tools for recovery service.

Engineers, designers, writers, translators, organizers, accessibility specialists, security people, support people, and others work as one team. Each brings a different creative gift. Each helps make the work better.

We are looking for people who want to join them.

The work

Software and infrastructure

Application development, databases, cloud systems, testing, deployment, reliability, security, and privacy.

Design and accessibility

User research, workflows, interface design, prototyping, usability testing, keyboard access, screen-reader support, and accessible content.

Language and communication

Translation, recovery-service terminology, product writing, instructions, help content, training materials, and technical documentation.

Product support and coordination

Testing real service workflows, reproducing problems, supporting users, preparing releases, and keeping shared work organized.

These categories are not departments. They are examples of the skills the work calls for.

Working together

People take responsibility for work they can own and complete.

We share work early, speak plainly, accept direct feedback, and make our decisions understandable to the people working beside us and the people who will inherit them.

Some of the information we encounter is private or recovery-related. Protecting it is part of every role.

Tell us what you bring

Tell us:

  • what you know how to do
  • what kind of work interests you
  • what you have made or worked on
  • how much time you can reliably give

You do not need a particular title, résumé, or professional background. We care about the work you can do and how you work with other people.
